Common questions about PNG conversions
Is converting PNGs safe with MConverter?
For cloud-based conversions, MConverter encrypts your PNG files using the latest technologies, such as TLS 1.3 and HSTS. They are transmitted securely to our cloud service provider’s EU-based data center, which holds internationally recognized ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certifications. There, each conversion is processed in a separate, isolated environment. This technique further reduces the risk of a malicious file impacting other conversions. Four hours after the conversion is complete, your files are automatically deleted from MConverter’s systems. You can also permanently delete your PNGs and other converted files immediately after finishing the conversion with the trash icon. When converting on-device, your files never leave your device. MConverter processes them locally. Note: on-device conversions are not yet available for some hardware-intensive formats. For both cloud and on-device conversions, your files are never scanned or shared with third parties for marketing purposes. Join thousands who have trusted MConverter to process over 20,592,138 files so far.
Can I convert PNG files in bulk?
Yes, MConverter supports batch converting of multiple PNG files at once. You can even drag and drop folders containing PNGs. Pasting PNG files and folders copied in the clipboard also works: use Ctrl+V.
Can I convert a PNG file, if its size is 10 GB?
Yes, with MConverter Max you can convert big PNGs, up to 10 gigabytes each. The free version lets you convert files up to 100 MB. If you need to convert PNG files over 100 megabytes, try MConverter Max. If your files aren’t over 1 GB, then you can use MConverter Plus instead, as it’s cheaper.
How long does it take to convert PNG?
For most images, the wait should be less than a minute. If they are animated, it may take a little longer. However, MConverter also supports converting larger images, meaning that it could take a while (up to over an hour, for example).

Format description
Portable Network Graphics (PNG) is a lossless raster-graphics image format. It was developed to replace GIF. While still widely used on the web, newer image formats like WebP and AVIF provide more efficient compression, leading to smaller file sizes with no quality loss.
