How to convert JXL to AMV?
You can convert JPEG XL (JXL) to AMV with MConverter in three easy steps:
Choose JXL files from your device or cloud storage
At the top of this page, drag and drop your JXLs.
Alternatively, click on the Browse box to select files with your device's file picker, or copy and paste a JXL file by pressing Ctrl+V (or ⌘+V on Mac).
MConverter can easily import JXLs from Google Drive, OneDrive, and Dropbox.
Converting a folder with JXL files to AMV is also supported: simply paste, drag and drop it, or use the ADD FOLDER button.

Get your AMV files after MConverter has finished processing them
Click on DOWNLOAD ALL to save your AMVs to your default downloads folder, or select SAVE TO to choose another location.
You can also configure automatic file downloads during the conversion process or in the settings menu. When enabled, each AMV file is downloaded as soon as its conversion is complete, without waiting for the others to finish.
If supported by your device, you'll see a Share icon, allowing you to directly send converted files to other apps.

Format description
JPEG XL (or JXL) is a new image format with better compression than other image formats like legacy JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF and others. Designed for the modern web and with professional photography in mind, JPEG XL offers a more efficient way of storing images. In addition to supporting alpha channels/transparency, lossless, progressive loading and animations, the new image format promises high speed encoding and decoding even on phones.
JPEG XL has experimental support in Firefox, Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers like Edge. For now, you need to enable a feature flag for these browsers to display JXL images. Safari supports only non-animated JPEG XL images since late 2023.
MConverter’s conversions from JPEG XL to other image formats are lossless, so there is no reduction in the quality of your images.
When converting from JPG to JXL, the output quality is mathematically lossless. In all other cases, the JPEG XL image quality is kept visually lossless. Your images will look visually identical.

Format description
The AMV video format was developed for cheap portable media players, known as S1 MP3 players. Because these devices have very limited processing power due to the Actions chip they use, AMV videos have to be small and in very low quality. The maximum resolution is 208x176 px, while the framerate cannot exceed 16 fps.
MConverter produces AMV videos with a resolution of 208x176 px and 10 fps to ensure good compatibility. Note that, due to the implementation of the player on some devices, they may require an even lower resolution or framerate.
