Format description
FLAC, or Free Lossless Audio Codec, files contain digital audio. FLAC files utilize lossless quality, meaning that there is no loss of any original sound data. When compared to MP3 (lossy audio format), FLAC files are generally larger. Nonetheless, FLAC’s lossless compression algorithm can reduce the file size by up to 70%, and still be able to reproduce the original audio afterwards. The format is royalty-free.

Format description
AIFF (short for Audio Interchange File Format) is a lossless audio file format developed by Apple in 1988 for high-quality sound storage. Originally designed for Apple Macintosh computers, the AIFF format is now supported across many platforms and commonly used in audio production. Although AIFF files are usually large due to storing uncompressed audio data, they maintain better audio fidelity than other lossy formats such as MP3 or AAC.
