About the formats
Audio file formats
OPUS files contain audio in the lossy Opus format. It was developed for online streaming and supports variable bitrates. Similarly to MP3, which is also lossy, OPUS files do not contain an exact copy of the original audio recording. This is done to take up less space.
Audio file formats
M4A files store audio using the AAC codec. M4A stands for MPEG-4 Audio. It is very similar to MP4 with the difference being the lack of a video/subtitle track in the file.
