About the formats
Video file formats
Macromedia, now Adobe
FLV is a Flash video file. It was created for online streaming of video content using the Adobe Flash Player. However, since Flash reached end-of-life in 2020, the video format is now only used by Adobe Animate and playable by some third party apps like VLC.
Audio file formats
OPUS files contain audio in the lossy Opus format. It was developed for online streaming and supports variable bitrates. Similarly to MP3, which is also lossy, OPUS files do not contain an exact copy of the original audio recording. This is done to take up less space.
