Format description
XCF files are used by the free open-source image editor GIMP to store layers, paths, guides, and other information about images created with the program. XCF files are analogous to PSD files for Adobe Photoshop.If you do not have GIMP installed, you can view an XCF file by converting it to another image format, such as PNG or WebP.
Note: we do not support some files produced by GIMP 2.10 yet. GIMP 2.8 and older is fully supported.

How long does it take to convert XCF?
For most images, the wait should be less than a minute. If they are animated, it may take a little longer. However, MConverter also supports converting larger images, meaning that it could take a while (up to over an hour, for example).
