How to convert PPS to PPTX?

A PPS file is a PowerPoint (97-2003) Slide Show exported from Microsoft Office or another office suite. When opened, the presentation starts directly in Slide Show mode and cannot be edited.
This file format is superseded by PPSX, introduced in releases after Microsoft Office 2003.
