Format description
SAMI is short for Synchronized Accessible Media Interchange. Developed in the late 90s by Microsoft, SMI or SAMI files were an accessibility initiative by the company. Such files contain subtitles with formatting, extended from HTML. In other words, subtitle text in the SAMI format can be bolded, italicized, underlined, colored, and more. MicroDVD Subtitle files (SUB) contain subtitle text, start and end time points. SUB files are meant to be used together with the corresponding video the subtitles are for. MicroDVD Subtitle do not support text formatting.Note: SUB files do not contain a video stream inside.
